This Design-Your-Own Unicorn weighted blanket is designed to fit on top of a King Single bed, with no overhang. This gives the best calming effect to people with sensory sensitivities.
Fabric:
Our Design-Your-Own Unicorn weighted blankets are made with your choice of printed cotton for the front. Select your favourite colour in cotton, sensory minky or smooth minky for the back.
Available fabrics:

How it’s made:
- Each weighted blanket’s calming effect comes from its weight. This comes from filling each blanket with the correct weight of micro glass beads.
- The glass beads are the size of mustard seeds with smooth edges.
- Each blanket has evenly spaced, individually sewn pockets. These are each filled with an equal weight of micro glass beads. This means that the blanket’s weight is evenly distributed across your whole body.
- We fill each blanket with two layers of cotton wadding. This keeps the glass beads evenly spread through each pocket.

I purchased three weighted blankets (one for hubby and I and one for each child) because I was sick of the lack of sleep I was getting due to everyone else.
They take a little getting used to after a light feather doona but I absolutely swear by them!
My husband (who suffers from a sleep disorder) says that he loves the weighted blanket and it has significantly reduced his need to take sleep medication. He really noticed the difference when he went away and was without the blanket for a few days.
